Beatty elected president of KSPE
Keith Beatty, PE, has been elected president for the executive committee of the Kansas Society of Professional Engineers. He will be installed during the society’s annual conference on June 9.
Keith says his overall mission as President is to continue the tradition of advocacy for the Professional Engineer.
“By promoting licensure we can help ensure the safety and welfare of the public and the profession. Over the next year I plan to work on an outreach program to better KSPE and the public perception that Engineers have,” he said.
Continuing the society’s mission of “advocating legislation and public policy for the betterment of human welfare and the profession” is also high on Keith’s list.
“KSPE has one of the best programs in the legislature with our lobbyist and member conviction. KSPE spends countless hours at the State House answering and testifying on behalf of the Professional Engineer,” he said.
Keith received his BS degree in civil engineering from Kansas State University and began his professional career with Kaw Valley Engineering in 1997. He spent eight years as the City Engineer for the City of Emporia before rejoining Kaw Valley Engineering in the spring of 2009 as the Director of Engineering Services.Categorized: Press Release
